G. Scott Shaw is an award-winning communications professional, industry speaker, and founder of CreatiVerge Communications, Inc. Over the last decade, he has counseled technology executives on how to build brand consistency, increase lead generation, and establish thought leadership to achieve marketing and communication objectives. His background includes a specialized focus on brand development with experience in public relations, marketing and design.
Throughout his career, he has written, designed and developed successful communications programs for technology and government organizations, including Era Corporation, SecureWave, SecureInfo, e-Security, CyberTrust and TruSecure, as well as the United States Department of Defense. In addition to his print, Web, and multimedia efforts, he has successfully garnered positive national and international press coverage for his clients in trade and business publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones Newswires, MSNBC, Advertising Age, Information Week, and The Washington Post, among others.
Prior to founding CreatiVerge, his career in the government and technology sectors includes positions with the Maryland House of Delegates, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide, the Technology Council of Maryland, and Kinko's, Inc (now FedEx Kinko's). He is a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and has served as a Vice President on the Board of Directors of the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, as well as the Independent Public Relations Alliance in Washington, D.C. and the Independent Public Relations Collaborative in Baltimore, Maryland.
He graduated summa cum laude from the College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park, having specialized in Public Relations with a minor in Marketing Communications.
