Cynthia Shaw, Vice President
Cynthia Shaw is an award-winning, results-oriented communicator with extensive experience in strategic media, industry analyst and customer relations, collateral, advertising/databases, events and Webinar creation to support sales, marketing and corporate objectives, the majority of which has been for both public and private high technology companies.
For more than 15 years, she has lead teams of marcom professionals for global companies with over $800 million in revenue, with over 3,500 employees worldwide. She also has experience launching communications for pre-IPO and start-up ventures and has demonstrated success in developing and managing aggressive communications initiatives including release and byline writing and placement, crisis communication, awards, media and industry analyst awareness, tradeshow promotion, case study and collateral writing and placement for technology companies.
Prior to CreatiVerge, she served as marketing communications director for Georgetown University's prestigious McDonough School of Business. Before Georgetown, she was the marketing communications director for TruSecure, and helped re-position the company for successful aquisition by Cybertrust; Cybertrust was then acquired by Verizon. Prior to TruSecure, Cynthia lead the public releations team at AXENT Technologies, and stayed on through its $1B aquisition by Symantec, one of the largest software companies in the world. At Symantec, she was responsible for public relations for the newly-aquired AXENT products. Before Symantec, Cynthia worked as an account manager for RMR&Associates, a full-service public relations and marketing firm, where she successfully garnered positive national and international press coverage for clients such as PSINet and Telogy Networks (now part of Texas Instruments). Prior to RMR, Cynthia handled the marketing communications for Computer Data Systems, Inc.'s automated biometric identification system.
Cynthia received her BA in Journalism from the University of Maryland, and her Masters in Communication from American University.
